It’s that time of year again. The holidays are over. Your friends are swearing up and down that they’ve had their last cookie, carb, or delectable dish until at least March. Your gym is crowded with resolutioners determined to shed those extra holiday pounds. However, New Years resolutions don’t have to be about losing weight!

Instead, you can make a promise to yourself to live your values in 2022 and shop Fairtrade. When you buy Fairtrade items you are fighting for workers’ rights, promoting gender equality, prioritizing fair pay for farmers and supporting climate-friendly farming practices. It’s simple to swap daily items for Fairtrade ones that not only benefit you, but also were created with people and the planet in mind.

Here are our favorite Fairtrade items to ring in the new year with:

  • Wellness:

Some of our favorite new items are Adora Calcium supplements. These incredible chocolate supplements are made with Fairtrade cocoa and premium milk chocolate. You can always feel good about getting your recommended daily vitamins while snacking on tasty chocolate!

Organic India is another favorite brand of ours. They were the first in the world to create Fairtrade certified supplements that come in cinnamon rose, turmeric ginger, and masala chai varieties.

Looking to incorporate more wellness habits into your life but aren’t quite ready to give up your daily caffeine fix? Sun Alchemy coffee from Terrasoul Superfoods is packed with ingredients like Lion’s Mane, Reishi and Chaga mushroom extracts that help boost cognitive function.

  • Kitchen and pantry:

Next time you’re at Whole Foods, keep an eye out for Coliman Organic bananas. Coliman, which is based in Mexico, is a Fairtrade certified brand that is dedicated to growing, packing and marketing the freshest Mexican bananas.

Trying to eat fewer animal products in 2022? Uprise Foods’ NOOCH IT! plant-based “cheese” product is a great Fairtrade vegan cheese alternative. NOOCH IT! is also great for folks with sensitive stomachs or certain food allergies because it is dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and organic non-GMO.

Renewal Mill, our newest Fairtrade certified brand, sells upcycled, plant-based baking mixes turn food waste into yummy goodies like brownies, cookies and cakes.

  • Clothing and cotton:

Do you have a little one in your life? Our friends at Kishu Baby sell adorable blankets and baby bibs that are made with 100% Fairtrade certified cotton. Terra Thread Home, another of our favorite brands, makes soft, absorbent, and breathable swaddle blankets.

Terra Thread was founded by father-daughter duo Vik and Vizan Giri who were inspired to create a product that could have a long-lasting positive impact on the planet. Besides baby items, Terra Thread carries a variety of Fairtrade cotton home goods like sheet sets, blankets, bath towels and bath robes (which are especially perfect for those frigid but cozy nights in January).
