Are you a US-based company?

Fairtrade America only registers companies based in the United States. If you are in another country, please email questions@fairtradeamerica.org and we can connect you with the appropriate Fairtrade organization. If you are already registered with a Fairtrade organization in another country and want to sell your labeled products in the US, please contact license@fairtradeamerica.org for details.

Are you planning to sell a finished packaged product with the FAIRTRADE Mark?

If yes, we can help you register as a licensee. Please fill out the form below.  If your business is trading commodities or ingredients, as opposed to final products, visit our Trader Application page. If you carry or would like to stock Fairtrade products that are purchased from a distributor or licensee you might be interested in joining our Retail Program.

Are your products covered by the Fairtrade Standards?

The Fairtrade Standards cover more than 300 raw products from farmers and workers in developing and least-developed countries. Click here to see the full list of commodities we cover. If you do not see a product listed, contact questions@fairtradeamerica.org and we can help you submit a request to Fairtrade International.

Do your products meet minimum Fairtrade ingredient specifications?

Products that carry the FAIRTRADE Mark must be 100% Fairtrade or meet minimum requirements if not all ingredients are certifiable. Find more details in our composition policy on our Standards and Policies page.

I want to promote Fairtrade products in my business

We have large range of business resources to help you and your company promote Fairtrade products.       We can work with your business individually to get the support you want. Please email us at questions@fairtradeamerica.org to talk about what we can do for your business.

Why do you call it the FAIRTRADE Mark?

We call our certification label the FAIRTRADE Mark so that it won't get confused with other Fairtrade logos. The FAIRTRADE Mark is the certification label that only goes on Fairtrade certified products. It has a black box around a round design of a person reaching up to the sky. If you are promoting Fairtrade products, please use the Mark. On the contrary, if you are partnering with Fairtrade America, please use our logo, which looks similar, but it does not have a black box.

Can I add the Mark to my own business materials?

Yes, but all artwork must be sent to Fairtrade America for approval at questions@fairtradeamerica.org.  Please attach the artwork and detailing which Fairtrade certified products you are selling, their brand names, and your supplier. Please note that there are no “Fairtrade businesses,” only Fairtrade certified products.

How do I use the Mark on packaging?

You will need to be Fairtrade certified through FLOCERT in order to put the FAIRTRADE Mark on your packaging. Please email us at questions@fairtradeamerica.org to discuss packaging requirements or visit our For Business pages.
