Veronica is a Humanitarian at heart and believes that people are the world’s greatest resource. She believes in being a voice for the voiceless and her humanitarian heart is fueled by her love of people and her faith.
Veronica Smyth is a native New Englander. She loves to learn and has earned an Associates in Human Services, a Bachelors in Communications with an emphasis on Journalism, and most recently earned another Associates in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a nationally registered as an NDTR (Nutrition Dietetic Technician Registered) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Veronica first became aware of Fair Trade in August of 2016 when her Nutrition group chose to focus on the month of October for a fairway presentation. Her group chose Fair Trade, because October is Fair Trade month. She has since become more aware of the purchases she makes. Through her nutrition program she became more aware of what sustainability is, how it impacts our world, and why it is so important.
Veronica believes that sustainability is crucial for our planet and people to thrive. She believes that sustainability shouldn’t just apply to the environment. She believes that resources are interdependent and that we should also focus on what she is calling, “Multilayered Sustainability”.
She has most recently launched an online shop called “I’m a Mess”. I’m a Mess is an apparel, accessories and lifestyle products retailer with a focus on Multilayered Sustainability. Her shop sells Made in the USA, Eco Friendly and Fair Trade products. She hopes to continue to raise awareness about the importance of buying Fair Trade when purchasing products that have been sourced from outside of the USA.
She is passionate about advocating for social welfare. Through her shop and blog, she hopes to raise awareness about multilayered sustainability. She wants to encourage people to always give back when and where they can and to always do their part in reducing their carbon footprint.
Veronica is also an animal advocate, a volunteer for a local soup kitchen and a novice blogger. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and their pets. She loves to hike, take day trips and travel as much as possible.
