The Green & Black’s Ethical Sourcing Standards are based on ILO Conventions, The UN Declaration of Human Rights, the Ethical Initiative Basecode and take into account the USDA Organic Standard.
In 1994, Green & Black’s Maya Gold was the first product to carry the FAIRTRADE Mark in the UK. The mark appeared on their Maya Gold bar, Green & Black’s flagship product inspired by a traditional Mayan drink of cacao and spice from Belize. Green & Black’s Fairtrade organic chocolate is now available in more than 15 flavors and as a drinking chocolate.
