Fairtrade America’s Board of Directors
Chair: Tim Beaty has 30+ years of experience in labor and community organizing. He is currently the Director of Global Strategies for the Teamsters. Through this work, Tim offered valuable advice to revise the Hired Labor Standard. He works with CRS Fair Trade in his local parish.
Secretary: Katherine DiMatteo is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Food Trade Association. She has worked in a variety of capacities within the organic industry since 1990. Katherine helps businesses grow as a managing partner at Wolf, DiMatteo + Associates. She was the executive director of the Organic Trade Association from 1990 to 2006. While there, Katherine shaped the outcome of the US National Organic Program standards.
Treasurer: Dan Arnett is the Cooperator in Chief of Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. He is also a Graduate Program Adjunct Professor at the Presidio Graduate School. Dan has served on the board of the National Co+op Grocers Association, bringing a wealth of experience in co-op management. Dan holds a Master of Management in Cooperatives and Credit Unions from Saint Mary’s University.
Nancy Onyango is a Kenyan accountant, businesswoman and corporate executive, who is the Director of the Office of Internal Audit and Inspection at the International Monetary Fund. She has three decades of experience in audit in over 15 countries across Africa. She has sat on several boards, worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. She is also a gender leadership specialist and mentors women navigating corporate ladders, as well as disadvantaged girls.
Jillian Semaan is the Campaign Director at Green America. She has worked in the civic & social organization industry and is particularly focused on Coalitions, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She brings a knowledge of food systems and environmental and political campaigns.
Carlos Reynoso is the General Manager of Manos Campesinas, a coffee cooperative in Guatemala. He has held various positions representing producers.
